Please protect funding for public broadcasting. PBS is an essential educational and cultural service. It helps to close the literacy gap in young children from low income families. It is a public good that does not take up any significant portion of our budget. De-funding it will only do harm. And please protect funding for foreign humanitarian aid. It has taken up less than one percent of our budget and makes the world we all live in a safer, more stable place while bolstering U.S standing and influence abroad. De-funding it will harm people and jeopardize international relations and the U.S.'s position as a leader on the world stage. There are places in the budget to cut but these are not the places. You are one of the few people with the direct power to do something here. Please listen to your conscience and make the moral decision.
