I would like you to formally admonish Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and consider his removal from his position.
His actions concerning military promotions show him to be biased toward women, and people of color, despite the fact that they have served our country with excellence and courage.
He is not promoting people based on merit, and is intentionally hindering those two groups of people from career advancement. This is especially egregious at a time when recruitment into the military needs to increase, we are actively at war, and troops moral is low.
He is also responsible for lookong into renaming the USS aircraft carrier slated to be named after Doris Miller, which is a blatantly discriminatory move.
This is not the way a good leader should behave. Hegseth's behaviors are not creating a strong, intelligent, and well-rounded military. He is not a leader who can be respected and followed.
Additionally, it is politically repugnant to consider naming a military vessel, or any monument, after an acting President.
This shameless pandering to Trump's ego shows that Hegseth is more concerned about his loyalty to Trump than his obligations the the US Military and the safety of our Country.
