Protect your vulnerable citizens
To: Rep. Kiggans
From: A constituent in Virginia Beach, VA
February 28
The recent budget passed by the House is deeply concerning as it prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthiest individuals and corporations over the needs of ordinary Americans. This approach exacerbates economic inequality and fails to address the pressing issues facing our communities. Instead of catering to billionaires, we should focus on investing in programs that uplift working families, strengthen public education, and expand access to affordable healthcare, including vital services like Medicaid. Many vulnerable populations, such as children in foster care and elderly residents in nursing homes, rely heavily on Medicaid for their well-being. As a representative, it is your duty to advocate for the interests of all constituents, not just the privileged few. I urge you to reconsider your stance and prioritize policies that benefit the majority of Americans, rather than perpetuating a system that enriches the already wealthy at the expense of everyone else. Our nation's future depends on building an equitable society that works for everyone, not just those at the very top.
