An Open Letter

To: Rep. Liccardo

From: A verified voter in Montara, CA

September 22

I urge you to protest Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to end the House session early. This year has seen only 65 voting days held in the House, which is the fewest days since the 1994 midterm session. Speaker Johnson effectively held the House down to a mere 383 hours in session, the lowest level on record since the 1990 session. This House’s ineffectiveness is further evidenced by passing just 34 bills, less than half than the previous record low since the 1990 session. We ask that the House be called back into session to take up the bills and motions currently on the floor and stop Speaker Johnson from preventing our elected officials from serving the interests of their constituents. Thank you for your time and consideration.
