Please Support Stronger Oversight of Data Center Development in Ohio

To: Gov. DeWine, Rep. Lett, Sen. Liston

From: A constituent in Columbus, OH

June 13

I am a constituent and I am writing to express concern about the rapid expansion of large-scale data centers in Ohio, particularly in Central Ohio. While I understand the importance of technology infrastructure and economic development, I am concerned about the long-term impacts on electric rates, water resources, farmland, local communities, and government transparency. I believe Ohio residents deserve: Greater transparency regarding proposed projects and incentives. Protection from utility costs being shifted onto residential customers. Strong local control over zoning and land-use decisions. Comprehensive studies of water and energy impacts before approvals are granted. Meaningful public input before projects move forward. I encourage you to support legislation that protects Ohio residents and ensures that the costs of data center growth are not borne by local communities and ratepayers. Thank you for your time and service.
