I am writing as a disgusted and enraged public educator. Our funding has been clawed back at the state and federal level. Our students terrorized. Our colleagues cut due to budget constraints. Thousands of Minnesotans harmed. You can understand my disgust and rage spans a myriad of issues. But today I am focused on the illegal, senseless, and costly war in Iran. Every DAY our taxpayers are spending more than a YEAR’s school district budget. It sickens me that my money is going to killing humans and playing “chicken” in a war of a Tyrant. While my students lack mental health funding, and some of my colleagues don’t know how they’ll afford insurance over the summer after being cut from their jobs, Donald Trump is playing games with taxpayer money that should be here, serving our citizens. Please stop this war and block 1.5 trillion in senseless defense spending.
