Stop trying to override Ohioans’ decision on legalized marijuana

To: Rep. Piccolantonio, Sen. Liston, Gov. DeWine

From: A verified voter in Blacklick, OH

May 27

The proposed changes to restrict the voter-approved recreational marijuana law in Ohio are concerning. Voters clearly expressed their support for a regulated cannabis market, yet lawmakers are now seeking to undermine key provisions like personal cultivation limits and product potency. These unilateral actions disregard the will of the people and risk driving the industry underground or across state borders, depriving Ohio of valuable tax revenue. Instead of imposing arbitrary limits, the focus should be on implementing reasonable safeguards while respecting the mandate given by voters. Undermining a democratically-approved law sets a troubling precedent and erodes public trust in the legislative process. I urge you to reconsider these restrictive measures and work to uphold the law as approved by Ohio's citizens.
