No Kings Day Protests Are a Wake-Up Call

To: Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott, Rep. Gimenez

From: A constituent in Miami, FL

June 15

I’m writing to you as a constituent who is deeply concerned about the direction our country is taking under the influence of the Trump administration. The widespread “No Kings Day” protests—taking place not only across the United States but even internationally—are a clear sign that Americans will not stand for the erosion of democratic principles and the consolidation of unchecked power. These protests are not partisan outbursts—they are about core American values. They signal that many of us, regardless of party, are alarmed by: • Immigration policies that undermine due process and dignity. • Unlawful or unilateral military actions that bypass Congress and public scrutiny. • Legislative pushes—like the so-called “big beautiful bill”—that prioritize political spectacle over sound, inclusive policy-making. It’s time to stop the blind loyalty to a single individual. We elected you to represent the people—not to enable an administration that disregards the balance of power, human rights, and the rule of law. I urge you to take these protests seriously. The people are watching. We demand accountability, constitutional integrity, and leadership that upholds—not undermines—the foundations of our democracy.
