Why are we funding war instead of programs helping children in our communities?

President Trump's administration has continuously cut money from social programs, such as snap amd medicaid. The administration has cut funding for medical research, and from public education. This was all supposedly done because there is no money for these programs. At the same time that they supposedly don't have enough funds, this administration has given massive tax cuts to billionaires, padded Trump's pockets with money and assets, and started a war that is costing several billions of dollars in the first days of the war alone. Tuesday Senator Bernie Sanders said the war has already cost $22.8 billion. Adding that the same amount could “provide Medicaid to 6.8 million kids,” build 2.6 million public housing units, fund Head Start for 1.3 million children, hire 240,000 teachers, or cancel $20,000 in student debt for 1 million borrowers. He is right in his assessment. It isn't that we don't have the money, but what Republicans prioritize. For the party that has pushed for the most restrictive abortion legislation we've seen in a generation all in the name of caring about the sanctity of life, it doesn't seem like the Republican party actually cares about children at all. The Republican party doesn't care enough to fund safety net programs that positively impact American infants and children for their entire lives, making them more productive citizens. The Republican party doesn't care enough about the then child victims from the Epstein files to give them justice, even if it takes down people in their own sphere. The Republican party doesn't care about American infants and children enough to not send their parents off to die in a war made solely by Trump's ego. And the Republican party certainly doesn't care about the Iranian children that our military bombed while attending school. When will the Republican party put their money where their mouth is? Alternatively Republicans could simply admit that they are lying about their belief in the sanctity of life simply because it sits well with the white, evangelical voters who get them elected. The Republican party is full of hypocrites and has lost all credibility by backing President Trump and his increasingly violent, destructive, and unhinged agendas. Any of you claiming to be Christians should be ashamed. Maybe you should take some time and read the parts of the Bible in red print.
