Support Senate Bill 1072: Let NC Voters Decide on Cannabis

To: Sen. Measmer, Gov. Stein, Rep. Echevarria

From: A verified voter in Concord, NC

May 8

Vote yes on Senate Bill 1072 and let North Carolinians decide for themselves. This bill would place two constitutional amendment questions on the November 3, 2026 ballot — one for personal cannabis use and one for medical use by qualifying patients. That's not legalization by legislative fiat. That's democracy. The Rules and Operations Committee has had this bill since May 5. It's time to move it forward. Voters across the political spectrum support the right to weigh in on cannabis policy, and this bill gives them exactly that opportunity. Block it, and you're not blocking marijuana — you're blocking the ballot box. Let the people vote.
