Vote to End Trump's War of Choice Against Iran

To: Rep. Maloy, Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

April 24

Vote yes on the war powers resolution to end hostilities against Iran. Trump launched this war without Congressional approval, dragging us into a conflict that has already killed six American service members and over 500 Iranians. This isn't American leadership. It's reckless subordination to another country's military agenda. Secretary Rubio admitted the strikes were triggered because Israel decided to attack Iran and we knew Iran would retaliate against US forces. We're now fighting a war to protect ourselves from the consequences of Israel's choices. Senator Warner is right that treating threats to Israel as imminent threats to the United States sets a dangerous precedent. That's not how our Constitution works. Trump has outlined contradictory goals ranging from destroying Iran's navy to preventing nuclear weapons to cutting off proxy support. There's no clear strategy and no endgame. Meanwhile, the administration killed Iran's Supreme Leader and top military commanders, guaranteeing this conflict will escalate further. Real leadership means making our own decisions about when American lives are put at risk. Vote to reassert Congressional authority over war. Don't let Trump turn us into a follower in someone else's war.
