As your constituent, I urge you to restore and protect funding to the USAID. Congress controls the purse and has already allocated money and support to this agency. It cannot be a source of wasteful spending as it comprises less than 1% of the federal budget. If the President wishes to cut wasteful spending, he should focus on larger percentages of the federal budget. Furthermore freezing the various research studies USAID funds endangers the completion of this research, which is *actually* a waste of tax-payer money. Congress must stand up and remind the President who - under the constitution he swore to uphold - controls the money.
