HELP YOUR CONSTITUENTS IN THE BUDGET

To: Rep. Castor, Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott

From: A verified voter in Saint Petersburg, FL

May 17

In all of the budget talk, I see NOTHING that benefits me. I don’t use gun silencers. I am not a billionaire. My husband and I are seniors (he is a disabled veteran) and the 2017 did absolutely nothing for us, so I have no interest in continuing it. I don’t use Medicaid, yet my neighbors do, and if I need it in my old age, I want it to be there. So don’t cut anything, ENHANCE it. The work requirements are ridiculous. Most Medicaid recipients already work if they are able, so the cost for the paperwork required for this will far exceed any benefit. This is performative and needs to stop. The budget needs to include congressional limits on tariffs so our prices are not subject to the see-sawing whims of the mad king. Our grocery prices have maybe doubled, and Trump lies when he says differently. Gas prices? $3.69, $3.18, $2.99, $3.29, $3.39. ALL IN ONE WEEK. This is like playing the lottery. And seriously, how can you live in Florida and not want to do everything possible to combat climate change? Truly a no-brainer. There are places we can find some money: stop Trump from golfing. Stop this ridiculous birthday parade. Stop spending money looking for brown people to kidnap and fly to foreign countries. Stop doing things that interfere with critical functions. I swear my 14 year old grandson could do a better job in the budget than the republicans are doing. What I do use? FEMA. NOAA. Social Security. Medicare. VA. Please start doing things that help your constituents, your ACTUAL constituents, not billionaires and special interests. I will be eager to get a specific reply on my concerns.
