Preserve our democracy

To: Sen. Crapo, Rep. Fulcher, Sen. Risch

From: A constituent in Kuna, ID

April 29

As my representative in the Congress of the United States, I ask you to protect the Constitution and the rule of law that assure liberty, equality, and justice in our beloved country. Stop the threats to: Our economy, from shuffling tariffs and loss of consumer, business, and international confidence. Our farmers and small business owners are hurting. Our personal freedoms, from disregard of due process for people declared guilty by government agents, arrested, detained, and deported in defiance of court orders. The character of our great nation, from an administration that oversteps its authority, insults and abandons its allies, and admires dictators. Our stability, from the wanton firing of key Federal employees. Our sense of our history, from the removal of references and exhibits in which the central figures are minorities. Our most vulnerable, from cuts to the support systems that protect them from starvation and homelessness and help them access medical care. The health of our people, from cuts to medical research and the elimination of regulations that protect consumers from illness and injury caused by poor industrial practices. Everyday Americans are being sacrificed so that wealthy men can get wealthier. Our democracy and our Constitution are threatened by policies that indicate that some are "more equal than others." Stand up for America while she still has breath.
