The government of the United States has been delivered into the hands of a gangster, whose sole purpose in running, besides staying out of jail, is to seek revenge on his enemies. The damage Donald Trump and his nihilist cronies can do – to America, but also to its democratic allies, and to the peace and security of the world – is incalculable. We are living in the time of Nero.” This is not hyperbole. The erosion of institutions, the normalization of political persecution, and the looming collapse of international alliances like NATO are all at stake. As a representative of the people, your duty is to protect democracy, not just for your constituents, but for future generations. This means standing up against political retaliation, safeguarding the integrity of our legal system, and ensuring that the principles of our Constitution are upheld. I urge you to use every tool at your disposal to resist policies and actions that threaten the fundamental rights of Americans and our standing in the world. We cannot afford to wait and see how bad things might get—history has shown us where this path leads. I implore you: be courageous. Speak out. Act now. The fate of our democracy depends on it.
