STOP ILLEGAL DOGE MANDATE—Protect Federal Employees’ Retirement Rights I urge you to investigate and stop the OPM’s May 7 memo mandating a digital-only retirement process under Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)”—a political entity created by executive memo without Congressional approval or legal standing. Starting July 15, OPM will reject all paper retirement applications with no exceptions—even for employees with accessibility barriers or during system outages. There are no stated cybersecurity protections, oversight mechanisms, or legislative reviews—just an abrupt, mandatory rollout. This raises serious legal, ethical, and constitutional concerns: • DOGE lacks congressional authorization and appears to function as a shadow agency for politicized federal restructuring. • The initiative bypasses unions, violates norms of administrative due process, and endangers data security. • It risks delays, exclusion of retirees with limited digital access, and a collapse in service continuity. Modernization should not come at the expense of transparency, legality, and civil service protections. Please call for a full investigation, suspend the mandate, and hold hearings on DOGE’s legality and reach.
