Stop the short-sighted and costly cuts in science funding. Economists estimate that a 25% cut in science funding will result in a GDP decline in magnitude to the 2018 recession; a 75% cut to government science funding is estimated to trigger the largest GDP decline than since the Great Depression. These are just the economic costs of cutting scientific research, not the lives that will be lost to disease when advances are not made.
