Urgent Congressional Oversight Needed on Erik Prince’s Deportation Proposals I write today with grave concern over recent developments involving Erik Prince, founder of the notorious private military company Blackwater, and his 2025 proposal to privatize key elements of U.S. immigration enforcement. You may recall that Blackwater was responsible for the Nisour Square massacre in 2007, where 17 Iraqi civilians were killed by Prince’s contractors. Since then, Prince has been repeatedly implicated in international controversies, including: • Arms trafficking in Libya • Mercenary operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo • Violations of U.S. military contracting laws • Attempting to profit off the Afghanistan evacuation by selling seats for $6,500 Now, Erik Prince is seeking to insert private forces into U.S. immigration policy. According to multiple reports, his latest proposal to the Trump administration includes: • Privately operated deportation squads • Processing camps on U.S. military installations • Private flights to detention centers in El Salvador • A disturbing suggestion to declare foreign detention zones as U.S. territory to bypass legal protections This is not only dangerous—it may be illegal. Outsourcing core law enforcement responsibilities to private mercenaries erodes constitutional oversight and opens the door to human rights abuses on a mass scale. While there is no public evidence of direct coordination, it’s worth noting that this proposal mirrors the agendas of Attorney General Pam Bondi and Border Czar Tom Homan—both of whom have documented financial ties to private prison companies like GEO Group and GEO Care. Together, this forms a disturbing pattern of government policy being shaped by profiteers. This is not just about immigration. It’s about the privatization of force, the erosion of democratic accountability, and the normalization of authoritarian infrastructure under the guise of enforcement. Congress must act. We urge you to investigate the following immediately: • Erik Prince’s communications with federal agencies regarding deportation infrastructure • Potential contracts or agreements related to private detention and transport • The legal viability of foreign-based U.S. detention zones • Any financial ties between Prince, Bondi, Homan, and private prison corporations This is more than corruption—it’s a coordinated effort to subvert the rule of law through privatized enforcement mechanisms. Please treat this matter with the urgency it demands.
