STOP SIF Purchase of Electronic Arts

To: Sen. Shaheen, Sen. Hassan, Rep. Goodlander

From: A constituent in Amherst, NH

February 6

I’m calling to urge you to demand Chairman Ferguson of the FTC to investigate the proposed acquisition of Electronic Arts (EA) by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and Silver Lake. I’m deeply concerned that this $20 billion debt-fueled deal will lead to massive layoffs and offshore American jobs in an industry that has already lost 35,000 workers recently. Furthermore, this level of cross-ownership between sports leagues and gaming creates a monopoly that hurts worker bargaining power and suppresses wages.
46 of your colleagues have already motioned for this, and I urge you to demand investigation.
