Oppose Congressional Authorization That Enables Escalation Toward War
To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Bean, Sen. Moody

Congress must revoke any authorization that allows Trump to push us toward war. The constitutional power to declare war belongs to Congress, not the executive branch, and that responsibility cannot be abdicated.
We are on the brink of a conflict that the American people did not vote for and do not want. Every day that passes with these authorizations in place brings us closer to military action that will cost American lives, destabilize entire regions, and drain resources we desperately need at home. I expect you to use every tool available to reassert congressional authority over decisions of war and peace.
This is not about partisan politics. This is about preventing an unnecessary war that will have devastating consequences for generations. Vote to repeal any standing authorization for use of military force that enables unilateral executive action. Co-sponsor legislation that requires explicit congressional approval before any military engagement. The framers gave Congress the war power for exactly this reason.
