Protect transgender rights and dignity, oppose limiting definitions

To: Rep. Ciscomani, Sen. Sinema, Sen. Kelly

November 4

H.R. 115: Opposing the Discriminatory "Women's Bill of Rights" This ill-conceived proposal, H.R. 115, threatens to undermine the rights and dignity of transgender and non-binary individuals by narrowly defining gender based solely on biological characteristics assigned at birth. Such definitions fail to account for the complexity of gender identity and expression, and could lead to widespread discrimination against those who do not conform to traditional gender norms. Moreover, restricting access to facilities based on these definitions raises significant privacy and safety concerns for transgender individuals. Rather than promoting divisive measures, we should strive to create an inclusive society that respects and protects the fundamental rights of all people, regardless of their gender identity or expression. I urge you to oppose H.R. 115 and instead work towards policies that foster understanding, equality, and respect for the diverse experiences and identities within our communities.
