It has been less than a year since Donald Trump took office, and already the harm your party has done to this nation is staggering. You have turned your backs on the very people you were elected to serve — siding instead with power, profit, and partisanship over principle. You have stood by while our democratic norms are tested daily, while truth itself is attacked, and while corruption and cruelty are treated as acceptable political strategies. You’ve enabled policies that strip healthcare from millions, ignored the suffering of working families, and excused rhetoric that divides neighbors and fuels hatred. History will remember these choices. You had the chance to show courage — to stand up for integrity, for compassion, and for the Constitution itself — and you chose complicity. You still have time to change course. You can choose to defend democracy instead of a demagogue. You can put country over party and restore some measure of dignity to the offices you hold. Stop this shutdown, protect American’s healthcare and stop fascist ICE agents from kidnapping and hurting people in the streets. The American people are watching, and we will not forget.
