Dear Representative, I am writing to urge you to support H.R. 3718 and to encourage its advancement through the House Natural Resources Committee. Current fisheries management allows large volumes of fish to be caught and discarded — often before reaching reproductive maturity. This represents both ecological loss and lost economic value. At the same time, other fishing sectors are facing increasing restrictions and closures tied to declining stocks. This imbalance raises serious concerns about long-term sustainability and fairness across fisheries. H.R. 3718 is a practical step toward reducing waste and improving accountability. I respectfully ask that you support efforts to move this bill forward for consideration. Please show your support for independent fishermen and small businesses - before it’s too late.
