Please stop the AI regulation moratorium

To: Rep. DelBene

From: A constituent in Mountlake Terrace, WA

May 13

Hello- I’m writing to you because the current reconciliation bill in front of senators has had a last minute (very late night) addendum added to it that would prevent ANY state from regulating AI for a DECADE. This issue is extremely important to me as I’ve been out of steady work for two years not because AI can do my job, but because it can do an extremely poor mockery of it and apparently CEOs think that’s ok. I’ve had my entire lifetime of work stolen and included in datasets and am one of thousands awaiting the results of court cases against AI companies. AI is a bubble ripe to burst, and to prevent regulation of it is to invite economic, societal and environmental disaster. If this bill comes before you with this addendum PLEASE fight it, I’m begging you.
