As voters, we are gravely concerned about the ongoing atrocities and loss of innocent Palestinian lives in Gaza due to the relentless Israeli bombardment. The continued US military support and arms sales to Israel enables these human rights violations and the perpetuation of this devastating conflict. We firmly believe a comprehensive arms embargo against Israel is a necessary and moral step to pressure Israel to end its indiscriminate killing of civilians, observe a permanent ceasefire, and pursue a just resolution respecting Palestinian rights. Without a substantive change in policy to curtail US complicity, we cannot in good conscience lend our support at the ballot box. The Democratic party must demonstrate genuine commitment to human rights and diplomacy over military force by implementing an immediate arms embargo on Israel.
