This executive overreach to target and investigate former government officials for voicing dissent is a disturbing attack on free speech and democratic principles. Silencing critics and retaliating against those who dare to contradict the president's false narratives is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes, not free societies. We must defend the right to publicly disagree with and criticize elected leaders without fear of persecution. Allowing this abuse of power to continue unchecked will only enable further erosion of civil liberties and constitutional guardrails against tyranny. This retribution campaign against Krebs and Taylor for truthfully refuting debunked election fraud claims poses a grave threat to the foundations of American democracy.
