Urgent Concern Regarding Presidential Rhetoric and National Security

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Bean, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Yulee, FL

April 7

I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent regarding recent public statements suggesting imminent large-scale destruction and framing it in apocalyptic terms tied to U.S. policy. This kind of rhetoric—especially when connected to discussions of regime change or military escalation—raises serious concerns about judgment, stability, and the potential for unintended consequences on a global scale. Language implying that “a whole civilization will die tonight” is not only alarming, it risks inflaming tensions, destabilizing diplomatic efforts, and placing American lives and interests at greater risk. Regardless of political affiliation, this is not normal presidential communication. It demands immediate oversight and accountability. I urge you to: Publicly address and clarify the intent and accuracy of these statements Ensure that any military or foreign policy actions are subject to appropriate congressional oversight Reaffirm the importance of measured, responsible communication in matters of international security This is about national stability, global safety, and the credibility of the United States on the world stage. I expect leadership that reflects those priorities.
