The Federal Data Center Enhancement Act (FDCEA) is about to expire and the federal government has no plans to extend or replace it. Now more than ever, we need ironclad legislation that maintains a baseline level of security for out personal data stored in these data centers. We all have personal information saved in data centers and people who regularly trust their information to AI chatbots and agents have even more to lose. You can't even imagine the number of scandals and controversies - the lives and businesses that could be ruined if a lot of this data were leaked. Countries all over the world have laws like FDCEA. America needs such a law more than most with our tech-driven economy and our stock market dominated by the likes of Apple, Tesla, Nvidia, Microsoft, and the rest. Sure, some of these companies might internally have high security standards but you know very well that companies often cut corners in the name of boosting profits. Please extend or replace FDCEA with a better, more up-to-date law before it's too late. Heck, it could be your data that gets breached next. Yikes!
