An Open Letter

To: Rep. Karickhoff, Sen. Buck

From: A constituent in Kokomo, IN

June 3

I am writing to you today to express my concern over data centers in Indiana. I am absolutely opposed to them, even in very rural places. They do not bring in more than a few specialized jobs; they ruin water quality and availability; they take up land that should be used in most cases to produce food; and they drive up the cost of utilities for local residents. They are only good for big business and not at all for local communities. Please don’t sell out our communities just to prop up big corporations. I’m asking you to ban all data centers in our state, as other states have done.
