I’m going to need you each to stand up and take back the power of congress. *This* is the point of no return. Rep. McGuire, I know you like to lick the boots of tangerine twittler, but I promise he will not protect you. You will be his fall guy. I implore you to take back your power as my representative in the house, the powers that are granted to you in the US constitution, the very same important document you preach to love and, by the way, took an oath to uphold. Senators Warner and Kaine: oh, I bet you thought you were left out. I am asking you both to stand the hell up and grow spines. What’s that quip about the definition of insanity? You guys have power. It’s past time to start acting like a true opposition party. I mean good job on the Venezuela thing today, but we need more, Rome is… burning. It’s also time to start listening to younger leadership, “the way we’ve always done things” won’t work anymore. Decorum has gone the way of the dodo, I’m afraid. Anyway, to the poor staffer who reads this: good on you for working on politics during this, I’m sure it’s exhilarating and exhausting all at once. I appreciate you. If you’re with the office of Rep McGuire, unless he’d like to write me a personal response, please don’t send a canned response and please extend a hearty FU to your boss.
