An Open Letter

To: Rep. McClellan

From: A constituent in Prince George, VA

November 4

I’m writing to demand Rep Summer Lee, Rep Ilhan Omar, Rep Rashida Tlaib, or Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over Rep Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House. He has failed in leadership, colluding with fascists like Jared Kushner and other MAGA figures. Progressives cleaned up last night after betrayals from centrists like Rep Haley Stevens. They were team players while being undermined by centrists. They nearly won Florida with zero help from the national party. I am tired of terrible Democratic Party leadership based on pecking order rather than merit. Rep Summer Lee, Rep Ilhan Omar, Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Rep Rashida Tlaib will meet this moment as consistent progressives with moral clarity where Rep Hakeem Jeffries has failed so miserably. People voted for change, and it’s time for elected Democrats to listen.
