Flock Safety's camera feeds are stored on unsecured servers, and the logins lack two-factor authentication, posing significant security risks. I oppose legislation supporting ALPR that allows data to be sent to Flock Safety, as it trains AI models and shares information with Palantir, fostering a surveillance state that jeopardizes our privacy. Once captured, this data can never be reclaimed.
Moreover, cameras do not prevent crime and have led to false arrests and lawsuits, all funded by taxpayers. The technology has been abused over a dozen times by private individuals, and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has also misused these systems.
These systems do not make our cities safer, and I urge immediate legislation for the removal of AI camera systems to protect our communities and privacy!
