I learned today that Secretary Kennedy Jr. has contradicted the FDA’s recommendations and rescinded COVID vaccines for children and pregnant people. I’m just one of millions of parents confused and worried by this news. While I am lucky to have private health insurance, all insurers are likely to drop coverage of the vaccine as a result of this announcement. We may see shortages at doctor’s offices, not because we lack supply, but because doctors will find it too expensive to keep the vaccine around when people are priced out of taking it. Unprotected people of all ages will die as a result of Kennedy Jr.’s announcement, which we already know is not based on leading scientific research. Plus, it will encourage those who believe anti-vaccine misinformation and have a further chilling effect on all vaccine use. Kennedy Jr.’s baseless claims are putting lives at risk daily, and the longer he stays in office, the worse it will get. Please do whatever is in your power to convince your colleagues how harmful he is, and remove him. Thank you.
