Stand up to President Trump
To: Rep. Messmer
From: A constituent in Tell City, IN
February 1
I am writing to you as a deeply concerned constituent regarding President Donald Trump’s actions and behavior in office. His repeated disregard for the Constitution and democratic norms is alarming, and his conduct suggests that he views himself as a king rather than an elected leader accountable to the American people. His actions threaten the very foundation of our democracy, and I fear that if left unchecked, they could cause irreparable harm to our nation.
At this critical moment in our history, I urge you to stand up to President Trump and put country over party. Our system of checks and balances was designed to prevent any one branch or individual from consolidating too much power. Yet, time and time again, President Trump has tested these limits—whether by attacking the free press, undermining our institutions, disregarding the rule of law, or attempting to place himself above accountability.
As my representative, I implore you to take a stand and defend the Constitution. The future of our democracy depends on leaders like you having the courage to act before it is too late. Please do everything in your power to hold the President accountable and protect the values that have made this country strong.
I appreciate your time and your service to our state and country. I look forward to your response and to seeing you take meaningful action on this urgent matter.
