Legislation for mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef now!

Introduce, cosponsor, and publicly support legislation for mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef. I also want anything labeled as "beef" to be mandatory tested to ensure it is, in fact, beef (defined in the Merriam Webster dictionary as "various breeds of cows"). Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller recently called for mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef. On the Texas Department of Agriculture website, "The following statement may be attributed to Commissioner Miller: With foreign imports and Bill Gates-backed lab-grown meat surging, Americans deserve transparency: Know exactly where your beef comes from, right down to the U.S. state it was raised in." I feel that the country-of-origin labeling is prudent and wise. Americans and all visiting the United States have the right to know where their beef originated. The United States needs mandatory country-of-origin labeling not only for beef but for all major food crops as well. Time is of the essence, so please act now! Introduce, cosponsor, and publicly support legislation for mandatory country-of-origin labeling for beef, as well as mandatory testing to ensure it is, in fact, beef.
