Reduce library ebook costs & wait times

To: Sen. Mohamed, Rep. Sencer-Mura

From: A verified voter in Minneapolis, MN

March 19

Please introduce a bill like Massachusetts Bill H. 3239 to help reduce library costs of ebook licensing by bringing ebook pricing more in line with print books. The hold times on library books in my county are weeks to months on popular or new books. Reducing the price for the license would allow the libraries to purchase more “copies” and reduce wait times. I also support a more radical change to remove the licensing fee by purchasing “copies” of the ebook files from publishers and indie authors to get away from cloud based subscription models of Amazon services, which hosts many library ebook files. Thank you very much for your time and attention to this matter.
