I’m writing to ask the Senator to vote against H.R. 9495 and oppose attaching it to any other legislation. This bill would give the incoming Trump administration unchecked power to threaten and shut down any dissenting nonprofit organization by declaring them a “terrorist supporting organization” without having to provide any evidence or justification. I am deeply concerned that it could be used to target any non-profit organizations that Trump dislikes. Non-profits such as Planned Parenthood, ACLU and others do incredible work for our democracy. We must keep them intact.
