I'm horrified by ICE's shooting of an innocent woman in Minneapolis yesterday. It was murder, pure and simple. We can't go on like this. The federal government under Donald Trump is not making us safer. It is causing chaos and violence in our neighborhoods and unease and distrust in the rest of the world. His kidnapping of the Venezuelan president and threatening to take over Greenland aren’t helping. The murderer left the scene of the crime within two minutes of the killing. What kind of officer flees the scene after he has just killed someone? Other agents denied medical care to the victim for 15 minutes. Trump and Noem were spreading lies about the killing within 30 minutes. Lies that were contradicted by the videos of the murder. Where is the oversight? Where is Congress? Congress needs to act. ICE operations need to be suspended at the very least while investigations into their training and tactics takes place. Kristi Noem and Greg Bovino need to step down, and that ICE officer needs to be arrested and charged today.
