Reject discriminatory bill harming equity in higher education.

November 4

H.R. 7683: A Direct Threat to Campus Equity and Inclusion This bill threatens to undermine equity and inclusion efforts at colleges and universities across the country. By prohibiting any action against single-gender social organizations like fraternities and sororities that exclude transgender students, it codifies discrimination against a vulnerable group. Furthermore, the broad language around free speech principles could be weaponized to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives vital to creating welcoming campus environments for all students. Higher education should foster open inquiry and freedom of expression, but not at the expense of basic rights and protections. I urge you to reject this misguided legislation that promotes regressive policies antithetical to American values of fairness and equal opportunity. Our institutions of higher learning must remain beacons of progress and inclusion.
