While aiming to uphold principles of fair competition, the proposed legislation takes an overly simplistic and discriminatory stance on gender identity. Transgender women are women, and barring them from women's events perpetuates harmful biases and stigma. Rather than blanket bans, a more nuanced approach that accounts for latest science and prioritizes inclusion while maintaining competitive integrity would be preferable.
