**Vote No on HB6213 — Don't Strip Federal Heat Protections From Workers** Vote no on HB6213, the so-called Heat Workforce Standards Act of 2025. This bill permanently blocks OSHA from finalizing its heat injury and illness prevention standard — a rule years in the making that would have required employers to provide water, rest breaks, and emergency response plans for workers in dangerous heat conditions. Killing it doesn't just delay those protections. It bans them forever, and bars any "substantially similar" future standard too. Workers in agriculture, construction, warehousing, and manufacturing are already dying from heat exposure, and climate trends are making extreme heat events more frequent and more severe. OSHA's own analysis projected the rule would prevent significant numbers of heat-related illnesses and fatalities every year. HB6213 throws that out to spare employers compliance costs. That is the wrong trade-off. Please vote no.
