I’m writing to urge you to protect funding for PBS and public media. These services are essential, not just for education and culture, but also for public safety.
During Hurricane Helene, our local PBS station was a lifeline. With no cell service or internet for days, it was the only source of reliable updates. That kind of trusted, accessible information is critical in emergencies.
PBS is also one of the few places offering calm, high-quality children’s programming. The shows are not only fun and engaging, but they also teach kids about the world and each other in meaningful, thoughtful ways — without ads or overwhelm.
Public media reaches and serves everyone, regardless of income or location. Please reject any cuts and continue to support this vital public resource.
