Reject the H.R.1 - One Big Beautiful Bill Act

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Alsobrooks

From: A constituent in Silver Spring, MD

May 23

I urge you to oppose the “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act. This legislation would severely cut essential health care and threaten our economy, harming millions of vulnerable Americans. It slashes nearly $800 billion from Medicaid over ten years, risking coverage for over 7 million low-income individuals by 2034. Such cuts could force seniors and struggling families to forgo necessary care, endangering public health. Wall Street analysts warn that this bill could destabilize markets, adding trillions to the national debt without offsets and driving up borrowing costs for households and businesses. A bipartisan analysis shows it would increase our debt by over $3 trillion in ten years, leading to higher inflation and slower growth. The impact of reducing health care and undermining market stability will deepen economic inequality and erode middle-class prosperity, potentially plunging us into a recession. For the sake of our nation’s health and economic future, please stand up for working families and reject the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Vote NO when it reaches the Senate floor. Thank you for your attention.
