Oppose Senate Bill 168 to Protect Education Quality and Accountability

To: Sen. Hoagland, Rep. Edwards

From: A constituent in Athens, OH

December 15, 2023

The recent passage of Senate Bill 168 in the Ohio Senate raises significant concerns. The bill's provisions, which lower requirements for advanced educator licenses and expand the ability to employ unlicensed individuals as teachers, risk undermining the quality of K-12 education. It is crucial to maintain high standards in our education system, rather than diluting them. Furthermore, the removal of certain reporting requirements could potentially lead to a lack of transparency and accountability, particularly in charter schools. Therefore, it is requested that you vote against this bill when it comes before the House, to protect the integrity of our education system and the welfare of our students.
