My name is Emily and I’m a constituent from Chesterfield County. I’m writing because I understand Democrats will soon be holding leadership elections. I want to make clear that I have NO faith in Chuck Schumer to do the job we need. There is so much talent in this caucus, and so many lawmakers who have shown they know how to fight, to message effectively, and to inspire their base. Schumer does none of these things. To the contrary, he is already talking about working across the aisle or “not wanting revenge.” That angers me. We don’t want our leaders to work with fascists and we very much DO demand accountability. We have a deep, amazing, diverse bench. If you want to keep us—the people who just delivered you a historic victory—happy, you will choose new leadership. Don’t squander the goodwill you’ve just built up. Thanks.
