The Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund should be used for protecting families, and communities when disaster strikes. Florida legislators need to put safeguards in place and stop DeSantis from continuing to use the fund as his personal slush fund. New disclosures reveal that hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent on immigration enforcement, private jets, meals, and other costs. Immigration is not an emergency and funds from the Fund should NOT be used to pay for “Alligator Alcatraz.”
