Dave Weldon, a vaccine safety skeptic, should not lead the CDC

November 25
I am concerned that Dave Weldon, a vaccine skeptic, is being considered to lead the CDC. As a public health agency, the CDC should be guided by scientific evidence and expertise, not by ideological stances that contradict established medical consensus. Weldon's views on vaccine safety are at odds with the overwhelming scientific data affirming vaccines as safe and effective tools for preventing disease. Appointing someone who propagates misinformation about vaccines would severely undermine public trust in the CDC and its ability to protect public health. The CDC's leadership should reflect a strong commitment to following the science and promoting proven preventive measures like vaccination. I urge reconsideration of this nominee to ensure the CDC remains a credible, evidence-based institution.
