Reject Vought nomination, protect nonpartisan civil service integrity
To: Rep. Knott, Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis
From: A constituent in Wake Forest, NC
February 3
This nomination poses a severe threat to the integrity and nonpartisan nature of the federal civil service. Vought was the chief architect of the unconstitutional "Schedule F" program that sought to strip job protections from career civil servants, enabling administrations to purge nonpartisan experts and replace them with partisan operatives. His views undermine the rule of law, separation of powers, and democratic accountability. Vought has expressed contempt for constitutional constraints on executive power, defended withholding lawfully appropriated funds in defiance of Congress, and advocated deploying military force against protesters. His confirmation would further erode principles of good governance, public trust, and the very foundations of our democracy. I urge you to reject this dangerous nomination and uphold the independence of the civil service which is critical for an effective, ethical and responsive government that truly serves all Americans.
