URGENT: Reject the Discriminatory HB2657 "Parent's Rights; Mental; Physical Health" Bill The proposed Parent's Rights; Mental; Physical Health bill (HB2657) poses a grave threat to the well-being and safety of LGBTQ+ students in Arizona schools. This legislation seeks to censor discussions surrounding gender identity and sexual orientation, effectively erasing the experiences of queer and transgender youth. Such censorship deprives these students of crucial resources and support systems, fostering an unwelcoming and potentially hostile environment. Moreover, provisions that enable the forcible outing of LGBTQ+ students or mandate the use of birth names and incorrect pronouns constitute flagrant violations of privacy and identity. These draconian measures jeopardize the mental health of an already vulnerable population and contribute to feelings of alienation and stigmatization. I urge you to reject this harmful bill and work towards cultivating an inclusive educational atmosphere that embraces and affirms the diversity of all students.
