Dear Governor Inslee Washington State Healthcare Authority and state lawmakers,
I hope this letter finds you both well. I am writing to address a pressing concern for the residents of Wahkiakum County, specifically Cathlamet, which is the third least populated county in Washington State.
Many of our community members face significant barriers to accessing healthcare due to limited internet connectivity and a lack of digital literacy. This situation makes it difficult for them to navigate online enrollment systems and secure necessary health coverage.
In light of these challenges, I respectfully request that the Washington State Healthcare Authority consider arranging for navigators or representatives to visit our rural community. Providing assistance in person would greatly facilitate the enrollment process for those who cannot access or effectively use online resources. Whether through traditional pen-and-paper methods or the use of laptops, this direct support would ensure that our residents can enroll in the healthcare programs they need. This is a very rural area and there is only 1 doctors office as well.
Your attention to this matter would greatly benefit our community and help bridge the gap in healthcare access for our rural population. Thank you for your consideration and for your ongoing commitment to serving all residents of Washington State.
Sincerely,
Garrett Beauregard
